Parish Administrator (part-time)
The Episcopal Church of Our Saviour, a family-sized church in Milton MA, seeks a part-time parish
administrator. The Parish Administrator will work twelve hours a week during normal business hours, generally on MWF from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM. Scheduling of this time can be flexible around the needs of the candidate. The Parish Administrator reports directly to the Rector and works collaboratively with staff and volunteer leaders. Compensation is $20 per hour.

Responsibilities
● Create and maintain a warm, welcoming, orderly atmosphere for all who call or visit the church, responding to all telephone, email, and in-person inquiries/visits with courtesy and tact
● Transition and maintenance of a primarily digitized/paperless work environment.
● Compile, edit, proofread and publish (print and electronic) church communications and mailings, including Sunday bulletin, annual reports, and additional communications as needed
● Maintain the church’s online presence, including collaboration with managers of social media pages and website to ensure sites stay current and updated
● Maintain and manage electronic church calendars
● Maintain church electronic Parish List
● Maintain electronic and paper Coffee Hour host sign up calendar
● Monitor, research, and order church and office supplies
● Oversee maintenance of office equipment
● Maintain paper and electronic files, minutes, reports and other church records. Files should be
systematic and in accordance with record retention guidelines. Ensure all personnel files have the required legal documents.
● Provide administrative support for funerals, weddings, baptisms and other special events
● Assist Sexton with contractors and other service providers as occasion arises
● Assist Sexton on use of space by outside organizations
● Manage some aspects of parishioner donation process including but not limited to quarterly statement reports.
● Other administrative duties as assigned by Rector

Qualifications
● Prior experience in an administrative or business professional role
● Prior church administration experience a plus
● Skill in all Microsoft Office applications
● Skill in the use of Google docs and Google groups
● Familiarity with MailChimp, WordPress, and Social Media Platforms
● Willingness to learn new software as necessary
● Basic computer and internet problem solving skills
● Excellent written and oral communication skills
● Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and still maintain lines of authority and collaboration
● Ability to prioritize and multitask in an office environment
● Friendly, courteous and detail-oriented

Bookkeeper (part-time)
The Episcopal Church of Our Saviour in Milton, Mass. is looking for a part-time professional to serve the bookkeeping needs of our parish. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and able to work independently with strong communication and administrative skills. The candidate will handle confidential information and financial information with discretion and must be able to work collaboratively with staff and volunteers.

Hours: The bookkeeper will work 4–8 hours every week during the first months to assist the church in updating our financial processes. After the initial clean up, the bookkeeper’s hours will shift to 4 hours a week.

Position Description:
The bookkeeper is responsible for financial management of revenue and expenses, financial reporting, payroll and tax reporting obligations, stewardship, pledge/donor reporting management and audit.

Specific duties include but are not limited to:
● Reviewing revenue collection results and recording in the system of record
● Reviewing documentation for disbursements for accuracy and completeness; preparing checks for signature. Providing organized documents for check signing
● Documenting pledged amounts; maintaining records of pledge payment status and other donations
● Preparing and issuing donor statements
● Preparing financial statements in coordination with the Treasurer for Vestry, Annual meeting or other requests
● Supporting the Treasurer in budget preparation and implementing Vestry financial decisions
● Processing the payroll with the payroll provider; Obtaining required information from independent contractors for issuance of a Form 1099
● Coordinating the annual audit and assisting in the implementation of audit recommendations
● Resolving issues with vendors (with Sexton if necessary), payroll provider, banks or other financial support group
● Assisting in the preparation and filing of financial reports required by the Diocese or other church related groups
● Assisting the Treasurer as needed

Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
● Minimum of 2 years experience in bookkeeping, accounting or related field with emphasis on
digital/electronic financial management and accounting processes
● Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
● Experience with online accounting software such as Quickbooks and/or other church accounting software
● Knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and willingness to learn new financial management software
● Experience in church accounting is preferred, but other non profit experience is helpful.
